Posting is one step. You choose a photo, and that is the whole form. There is no field for the film simulation, no field for the white balance shift, nothing to fill in before you publish.
FujiShare recognises a Fujifilm file on sight. Your camera writes the recipe and the capture settings into the JPEG at the moment of the shot, and FujiShare reads that record straight back out. The settings shown under a photo are confirmed to be the ones it was taken with, down to the body and the lens.
Bricking a camera means corrupting the firmware it boots from, which happens during a firmware update. FujiShare never updates firmware and has no firmware-update code.
What it writes are settings. They land in your custom banks, and they are the same values you can set from the camera's own menus. The camera decides whether to accept each one, as it does from its own menus.
FujiShare is built to save what your banks hold before it writes, to read each value back to confirm it landed, and to stop and tell you which one if it does not. Keep the cable connected until a write finishes.
As with anything that writes to a camera, you use it at your own risk. The terms say where that line sits, and the next question covers the separate matter of Fujifilm's warranty.
Fujifilm has said that using any software it has not licensed to connect to or control one of its cameras voids the camera's limited warranty, that it licenses only large companies, and that the camera may keep a record of the connection. It has not licensed FujiShare. So the honest answer is: assume yes. Connecting by cable or Bluetooth, to read photos or to write recipes, may cost you whatever manufacturer warranty is left on the body.
Consumer law in some places, including the United States, limits what a manufacturer can refuse to cover unless it can show the third-party software caused the fault, and Fujifilm may honour a claim anyway. We cannot tell you how that will go for you. If the warranty matters to you, do not connect, or wait until it has run out. We say this here, in the app before you connect, and in the terms, because that call should be yours to make, knowing the cost.
Every Fujifilm body can share recipes, because every Fujifilm JPEG carries its recipe inside the file. Writing recipes into the camera works on bodies that offer their recipe banks over USB: the X100V and the X-Processor 5 generation (X100VI, X-T5, X-T50, X-E5, X-M5, X-T30 III, X-S20, X-H2, X-H2S). Older X bodies read photos and recipes over the cable but keep their banks to themselves; a wireless route for them is being built.

To write recipes to your camera, yes. Recipes go over USB. Use a data-capable cable, because many charging cables carry power only. The cable that came with your camera works.
Getting photos off the camera is wireless on supported bodies. Pair once and your newest shots appear in the app.
FujiShare reads your banks and saves what it finds before anything is written. That becomes a restore point you can go back to.
Loading a pack replaces what is on the camera. Every look you have saved stays in the app, and the restore point is there to put the old banks back.
Use a data-capable USB cable. Many bundled cables are charge-only; the cable that came with your camera works. Switch the camera on before you open the connect screen. Then check the camera's USB connection setting: the in-app guide walks through the exact menu path, and the app explains what it found whenever a connection fails.
FujiShare reads every setting back after writing it. If verification fails, nothing is silently half-applied: the app tells you exactly which setting didn't land and why, usually because the body doesn't support that setting. If the cameras page is wrong about your camera, email us; it is corrected fast.
